To support to our regulated and accredited training, all of our learners are expected to work on real, fee paying clients.
It is an essential part of their qualification and assessment process that they build evidence working with clients, and can show results of their skills. For this reason, we operate a realistic working environment for them to work in. Tasks that the learners are expected to undertake include:
- Sourcing clients suitable for treatment
- Booking clients for treatment, including undertaking necessary medical history or skin testing requirements
- Greeting clients, introducing themselves and general client care
- Full consultation
- Treating clients in line with client requirements, qualification requirements and current industry standards
- Giving aftercare advice
- Taking payment from clients
Our learners are fully supervised throughout, and have had sufficient training prior to being able to work on a client. Our training salon is fully insured and licensed, and products and equipment used are approved by the training centre, and mirror those that would be used in a commercial salon. Our treatment costs are reflective of the training situation, and are minimal to cover the cost of products.
You will be asked to complete and sign a consultation form to say that you are aware of the training environment, that you have been involved in the consultation and that you are aware that results may not be to industry expectations.
We do ask for our clients to respect the stage of learning that their therapist may be at, and also appreciate that late cancellations or not showing up to an appointment can be very unsettling, or even delay a learner being able to complete their course! For this reason, we are now taking online bookings for all treatments, which will ask for card details to secure your space. No payment will be taken, but in the case of late cancellation and no-shows, a percentage of the final fee will be charged.
